Kasturba Gandhi

It can happen to everyone at some point to feel confused, to look at their own life and feel the
weight of the years that have passed with the anxiety of an increasingly uncertain future. It is in
these moments that we ask ourselves where we are going, what meaning are we giving to our life,
what direction to take and what we must do to deserve a space, a happy place in this world.

If these words resonate in you you are in a fundamental moment of your life, you have accumulated
experience and knowledge and perhaps the time has come to consciously follow your Dharma.
Dharma is a Sanskrit word that has different meanings according to the philosophical or religious
current. However, a widely accepted explanation of Dharma is: to live in harmony and order
with the universe.

If many unpleasant things happen it is because we should all return to reflect on the Dharma.
I think things happen because they have to happen. Even the unpleasant ones teach us something
important and invite us to rediscover what is most precious hidden: Love, Peace and Balance. If
each of us knew their role, that purpose that makes you get out of bed in the morning with a smile,
if each of us were happy and in harmony with universal laws, perhaps the world would really be a
better place. Each of us should make peace with the Dharma way and stop ignoring it.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away. ” -cit. Pablo Picasso

To know your Dharma, the direction to follow for a life in harmony, you must start to stop being
distracted by what takes away your energy, by illusions, as well as by all those thoughts that create
infinite roads in front of you but without any destination. Stop wasting your strength in actions that
lead you nowhere you want. Stop creating disharmony by making bad choices that will continue to
affect your life by moving further and further away from your essence. Begin to become aware of
what makes you unique. Ask yourself what you love, because probably “that something” is
what the world around you needs and to offer it you must first know it. Be the alchemist of
yourself and through love transform every defect into a value to be given.

When you follow the path of the Dharma you will stop feeling struggling, you will realign with the
perfect flow of the Universe and each piece of that wonderful puzzle that represents you will finally
begin to find its perfect combination to form that wonderful image of you that you always have
dreamed. It may not be easy, but in the end you will feel at peace, useful, grateful, and your life will
gain value.

Here are some tips to find out what your Dharma is so that you can feel free, satisfied with
your life and bring love and happiness to you and the whole world:

1. Learn to observe: observe things, people and situations that occur on time in your life. Observe
your emotions, observe everything. The things that bother you are the ones that teach you to have
more patience and strength. The things that make you happy in the soul are the ones to follow and
nurture.
2. Learn to know yourself, and not identify with your thoughts. There are many I’s within us.
Remember who you are! Find out what makes you special, find out what you can do to bring more
joy, love and peace with your unique talents. There is no one in the world who has your
combination of lived experiences and gifts to offer.

3. Choose a practice that connects you to your spiritual side. Whether it is yoga, meditation,
painting or walking in the woods, it is important to connect with your most spiritual part because it
is in your deepest self that the information about your Dharma is found and it is in these practices
that you will find the way forward.
4. Do not use your rational side too much in the pursuit of the Dharma. Purify your thoughts and
follow your heart! F. Dostoevsky suggests: “Love life more than its logic, only then will you
understand its meaning.”
5. Change shape, explore, become the best version of yourself. Don’t let yourself be swayed,
don’t betray the essence of love you have inside. Follow your mission! Follow your Dharma!

“As long as you carry a dream in your heart, you will never lose the meaning of life.” – Mahatma
Gandhi

Your very affectionate
Vivian Mil.
– Odaka Yoga Teacher RYT 500
Instagram: @ararisko_harmony_yoga_

“The most important thing in life is to choose one direction, and forget the others.” – cit.
