Time to blossom

“Whatever flower you are,
when your time comes, you will blossom.
Before that, a long, cold night may pass.
Even from the dreams of the night you will draw strength and nourishment.
So be patient with what happens to you and heal and love yourself
without comparing you or wanting to be another flower,
because there is no better flower than the one that opens in the fullness of what is.
And when that happens, you will find that
you were dreaming of being a flower that had to bloom. “ – Walter Gioia

If you think you are not enough, you feel frustration, or you still do not see the dream that you have worked so hard for fulfilled, it is time to stop, let go of judgments and comparisons to be able to observe yourself better and give yourself the happiness and fulfillment that you deserve.

Yes, today’s society sometimes pushes us to give our best, to chase stereotypes, to seek perfection …
a perfection that does not exist, however, is changeable and unattainable and makes us increasingly
stressed and dissatisfied.

True perfection is that moment when you understand your potential:
that uniqueness that you possess and that makes you special.

Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves, we blame ourselves for not going fast or far enough.
When we start attending a yoga class, for example, we would like to be immediately stronger,
beautiful and flexible like our mat neighbor or envy the life path and success of our own teacher in
front of us. This could lead us to criticize ourselves and drop us into a deep hole of depression and
insecurity. Stay balanced, don’t give in to the temptation to get down because that would be something you
could truly regret. Give yourself time and a chance to blossom!

One of the teachings that we receive from the first Odaka Yoga lesson is that there is no perfect and
standardized position to reach, but there is the perfect and different position for each of us. So we
can all express our beauty and our ever changing potential.

Odaka Yoga teaches us to become aware of every gesture, giving importance to the transition that
takes us from one asana to another. The sequences are never fixed but evolve in a continuous
process adapting to the needs of each moment. The kind and flowing movements help us slow
down, find our rhythm, respect ourselves and finally feel comfortable with ourselves so that we can
rethink our life and suddenly notice how far we have come and how many blessings we have
received.

Be patient with yourself and with life, live your emotions without fighting them to learn to let them go and let the most beautiful part of you blossom. As a flower opens its petals at the right time, so too does your life proceed along a perfect timeline.

Do not be in a hurry to reach that asana, or that much coveted progress. If you forced that flower to bloom by removing the petals with your hands it would wither in a short time and the same would happen to you with your life.

So, today welcome with happiness the knowledge that you can enjoy what you want right now. Do not fix your mind on a destination, rather proceed safely on your path appreciating the beauty and abundance that is there in every moment. Enjoy this special journey, because any goal you want to achieve will have already been achieved within you with love.
